how to preserve a fresh newspaper clipping?
As in, one clipped TO-DAY? Should I laminate it or seal it in some frame, or simply save it and print it out on another sheet of paper every few years?

NEVER laminate any paper or photos that you want as a keepsake. Chemicals in the lamination will damage them over time.
Keep it away from air and humidity. Unless you're planning to sell it on ebay some day, it is probably better to scan it and save it in several locations both on and off the web.
If you have a choice of where you're going to get your clippings (maybe the same story in more than one newspaper) then go for the one that has less acid content in its paper. Those with more acid content will yellow and become brittle much more quickly.
