im on a diet but i just ate a whole pint of ben and jerry's americone dream... help?

i lost 12 pounds since last year(i was 142 now im 130and im 5'5")i wanna be 123 though...will this ice cream mess me up?i work out 5-6 times a week running and strength training...i've hit a plateau so i think thats why i went for the ice cream....im depressed:(

I know how you were feeling when you posted this question... depressed and guilty because you just ate that tub of yummy ice-cream, and feel that it just ruined all your hard work of running and resistance work. But don't worry, if you are working out as much as you say you are, then the calories you burnt off outweighs the calories you consumed through the ice-cream. Eating that much ice-cream should be enough to put you off ice-cream for a week(lol), and you have a whole week ahead of you to work out and feel a lot better than you do right now :)
Losing weight is always a struggle, because we like to come back to our favourite foods now and then, and sometimes we will binge on those foods, but as long as you are working out MORE than you are binging, the weight loss will still happen, just a little bit slower than you would like. Obviously, the more strict you are, the faster it's going to happen, but life is too short to cheat yourself of all the yummy things there are to eat, so treat yourself now and then, just learn to have a little restraint, and have just one bowl instead of a whole tub. lol
Hey, if it makes you feel any better, I had fried chicken and chips for lunch yesterday, then a whole pizza and garlic bread for dinner..!! Eww!! lol But I know I will be training hard at the gym tonight, then riding my bmx for around 3hrs tomorrow, so theres my pizza and chips gone right there. While I felt like s**t after the pizza, when I get back from riding tomorrow, I'll be feeling tip-top again. It's a total mind game.
Don't worry, just keep training and the results will come, and you'll eventually reach your goal, even with the little setbacks along the way, like Americone Dream :)
